Sunday Night Inspiration

The weeks have been slow and fast, simultaneously. Days have been long, but Monday begins and it is Sunday in the blink of an eye. Taking the time to live slowly has become a goal; it is all too easy to get trapped in the cycle of fast city living. When I take the time to be by the sea, to be close to nature, a calm washes over me. Find those places.

Where are the places you feel at home? The places that bring you back to yourself? Where are the people who make you feel like you have come home? Find them, love them.

There is no need to apologise for the things that make you human – it has taken me a long time to fully accept this. For years, I never liked to show my vulnerability or sadness in the presence of others. I thought it made me weak, that I was letting everyone down by not being ‘strong enough’. I realise now that strength manifests itself in many different ways, in many different situations. Vulnerability is strength. Kindness is strength. Being human is strength. We all have our own definition of what strength means to us, but stay true to yourself without hiding parts of yourself away in fear of being judged. We will be judged by others no matter what, and we cannot change how people perceive us – especially if we are not around those people very often. The best thing you can do is just be.

Let go. The stories and narratives that you carry around inside of you, if they are not serving you, let them go. The people who were a part of your story, the ones who left, the ones who walked out in the middle of a chapter, the ones who hurt you; let them go. You are much more than the broken parts, those chips are just a part of who you are, but there is more to the story. Live your life with your own kind of bravery.
